New Month!

February 1st

So, month one is over.  Wow!  I want to reevaluate my goals each month and figure out where I am and how I am doing with them.  I was going to put the before and after pics, but I am not doing it this morning.  I will probably just post something on FB later.  There are a few items I want to review; weight loss, running, organizing my life, being nice, getting the grocery store in town.

Weight loss--my love hate relationship with this concept.  I started the year at 167, dropped down to 164 and guess what?  This morning, I am back to the 167.  I remember a previous post, I will not stress about the scale.  It's easier said than done.  I thought by February I would have been down to 160.  Even though I said I am not going to stress about the scale, I am still disappointed.  I wouldn't be honest with myself, if I really didn't care about the scale.  My eating habits have gotten a lot better this month.  I am aware of what I put in my mouth.  I know I really don't like feeling full.  And I know cheat days are really not worth it.  One thing I am very proud of is, I have not eaten fast food in 31 days!!!!  Besides the couple of Subway stops while traveling, I have not gone through the McDonald's or Chick Fil'a drive thru.  I have also stuck with WW for 31 days too, with only ONE day of not tracking points.

Exercise and running is the one goal I love to follow through with.  To be honest, this is the one goal in my life I am 100% committed to.  I love this stuff, I love how my mood is after and the energy I have.  I am training for a half marathon in a month.  January is my one year anniversary for running.  If you read Annette's post, I have started running with her and another girlfriend last January.  I want to keep on running until my body says no more, Mel.  If I could put forth the commitment to all my goals like exercise and running, I would be the bomb...ka-boom!

Organizing my life has been put on the back burner.  One thing I can honestly say...my closet is still clean!  Do you realize, this closet would be a tornado a week after cleaning it.  I am so happy that I have maintained this stupid closet.  Now, my desk is another story.  I think it looks worse than before I cleaned it.  Yikes!!  I need to get back on track with organizing.  This just doesn't mean closets, desks, garages and etc.  I also need to organize my life!  More to come this month...

I am not trying at all to be nice.  I am sorry, but there are too many jackass' in the world.  Give me flipin break!  So, I guess I can be nice to nice people, but not to dumbass'.  If I do that, then I really am not following through with my goal.  Ok, so I will try really hard to be nice...I promise.  I have not followed through with this item.

Oh grocery store, oh grocery store, oh how I wish you were in Belen...YES ladies, I am going to get serious with this goal.  As you and everyone else in my life knows, BELEN HAS NO REAL GROCERY STORE!!  We have Wal-Mart (don't trust the meat dept), Lowe's (smells like Juarez, used to be nice, like when I was a kid) and hmm...those are our options.  I am going to commit to this goal 110%.  If I can't get Trader Joe's, I highly doubt they would put one in Belen, (more likely in Los Lunas)  I would be happy with a Smiths, Albertson or Von's.  As the Follow Thorougher's are my witness, I WILL GET A GROCERY STORE IN BELEN!!!!!!!!

So this blog is kind of long...ya think?!!??  But I am going to work hard on every goal.  I can work on each goal everyday.  What I have learned about myself this year...I have not been 110% committed to each goal.  I have always been enthusiastic about something I want to do, then excitement is gone and I put it on the back burner.  I should be happy that at least one goal is going well.  I'm not superwoman, so next month, I want to be truly focused on at least one goal (including weight loss and running).

One month down, 11 more to go!  In the words of the great, George Lopez...I GOT THIS!

  2. Mel, you're so great. I feel the same way about excerise, and food for me too is the biggest battle. But I have also realized that feeling sick/stuffed full is soooo not worth it. Honestly, I think that we're realizing that is huge and we should be proud :)
Hope you have a great day tomorrow!
