New Quarter!!

April 3rd

Today is a new day.  In fact, today starts a new quarter.  I have been reflecting on what I have accomplished the first three months of the year.  I just read my very first blog.  I had goals for the year and I only completed one goal...how depressing!  I don't think I am going to add anymore goals on to my very full plate.  I really am going to focus on my goals from the first of the year.

One of my goals was organization.  I even said my shredder and I are going to be the best of friends...hmm I haven't even pulled the shredder out this year.  That is truly pathetic!  My car is a mess...and well I am not going to talk about the closet.  The closet looked good for about a month or so.

I set goals of weight lose, Even though my weight has fluctuated up and down during the three months, my tummy and legs are getting smaller.  I am also 7lbs less then what I was in December.  I had a blog that I explained to you that I am no longer going to cheat.  Well guess what, that never happened.  I cheated Thursday night, because I knew I had one month to my half marathon.  So my logic was, "I am going to be strict for April, because I am training...so I can eat bad the night before".  I didn't eat "bad" food, I just a lot of what I cooked.  I don't make any sense?  This relationship with food I have is no bueno!

I am also going to work on my relationship with my husband.  I am probably not the best of wives.  I think when we have kids, we tend to put on husbands on the back burner.  I know I am the first one to do it.  I want to change this especially when my daughter gets older and  watches us, she'll know how she's supposed to treat her husband.  Also I have always been about doing everything myself.  I kind of just treat him like a kid.  I don't truly treat him like my husband.  He's a great father and a good husband.

Organization, weight lose, being a better wife...that's what I am working on in my life.  Should I add something for work?  I don't think so, I am doing great with my job.  I will be following through with all my goals.

I am may not be 20 lbs lighter, my closet is a mess and I am still not nice.  But I am working on it.  This has been a good year so far!  Even though it's taking some time, I will see my goals be accomplished!  Thanks again Theresa for this awesome club.  And thank you fellow FT'ers for being supportive and making me realize we all are in the same boat.  And we are all FABULOUS!!

Let's Go Team!!

  1. Magic Mel, I know we've all been there this year with our goals. The joy is...we're human & can start again, and again, and again (unless we get motion sickness) and make the next moment better. Stay patient with yourself as you work on, through, and beyond these fabulous goals! We got ya back & sides Sister!

  2. Mel, you run maratons, that's flippin amazing as far as I'm concerned!! I have the same thoughts of being a better wife. It's hard to be an independant strong woman in a marriage, it is tough to find the balance, I can sympathize with that. You're on you way through an amazing year!! xoxo

  3. I think you're hard on yourself...running a 1/2 is a HUGE accomplishment. A small percentage of the entire population would even think of nevertheless actually accomplish a feat like that.
Self-awareness is a fabulous thing...don't put too many things on your plate and set yourself up to fail and beat yourself up about. I would say your relationship with Paul is more important than being organized.
